I do admit that a few homicidal thoughts flickered through my head at both Son and Daughter's comments. And in the morning, yet! We are cozily settled in our New Jersey hotel, heading into the city in the morning for a morning of touring and a matinee at the Gershwin. Gonna be a fun day tomorrow! Bet no one will have trouble waking up tomorrow!Karennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551977354338403876.post-4874791478514448192011-10-21T02:47:35.525+01:002011-10-21T02:47:35.525+01:00Karen - hey, whatever works, as long as he's w...Karen - hey, whatever works, as long as he's writing it down! Don't know how in the world people who do not have a sense of humor manage to get by in this world!! I applaud you for your self-control in response to the 'do you have to be so loud' comment. Sharp words seem like a calm and humane response to a comment like that so early in the morning. The children are fortunate that you are so saintly...; )MsCarolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03623997911568143459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551977354338403876.post-58619209150891424232011-10-21T01:55:05.932+01:002011-10-21T01:55:05.932+01:00Same story here...teenagers who do not want to go ...Same story here...teenagers who do not want to go to sleep, or wake up either! Son, age 14, is the worst of all. Finally woke him one day this week with my most unpleasant yelling voice, only to be met with, "Do you have to be so loud?" Clearly I do, Son, since that was the 5th time I called you that morning. It's been better since, think I frightened him...doesn't want to hear that voice again! Leah objected as well, most unwisely, which earned the sharp edge of Mom's tongue! My son also claimed that I did not need to repeat my "You need to write down your homework or lack of homework in your agenda" lecture. Had no answer to the fact that I am now on year 9 of said lecture to no apparent effect. Year 9 segued into the German, "Nein" which he is now writing into his agenda to signify "no" homwork in that subject. A little humor goes a long way....<br />Lets hope it works!Karennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551977354338403876.post-3588733865200208122011-10-20T23:31:11.117+01:002011-10-20T23:31:11.117+01:00NVG: This is all Son#2's doing - it is quite ...NVG: This is all Son#2's doing - it is quite a cult favorite among some US teens - but the rest of us are hooked now, too. I've made Son#2 keep the volume low on his Dalek, but if we can hear it in our room, I am pretty sure that the neighbors can hear it, too! No complaints yet, though...MsCarolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03623997911568143459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551977354338403876.post-30934463943983735422011-10-20T23:26:17.747+01:002011-10-20T23:26:17.747+01:00@Circles: Oh, yes, that day will come, even thoug...@Circles: Oh, yes, that day will come, even though I know it doesn't feel like it now! I also wanted to be sure they would be well-prepared to take on the responsibility of getting themselves to classes once they were out on their own.
